Bob had many children who went on to inherit his musical talent like the well known Stephen Marley who created the song 'Hey Baby Ft. Ziggy has always been incredibly family-driven, becoming inspired by his kids and dedicating much of his art to them. He has 7 children, Bambaata, Justice, Zuri, Judah Victoria, Gideon, Abraham Selassie, and Isaiah Sion. He has given them all the surname of Robert Nesta Marley in his dad's honor.

He won another Grammy Award for Best Musical Album for Children for his album Family Time. He's created countless family-oriented tunes and projects dedicated to his children. Adorably, Ziggy did voice-acting work for the 2004 DreamWorks film Shark Tale, where he played twin Rasta Jellyfish!

His children are also impressive musicians, like Bambata who is a songwriter and plays the guitar, piano, drums, and sings! Ziggy's talented daughter Justice is a major voice in the Black Lives Matter Movement and earned a degree in Apparel Industry Management to pursue her fashion passions.

During quarantine because of the coronavirus pandemic, Ziggy created a children's album featuring his kids! He wrote More Family Time as a follow-up to his previous children's album. He told Rolling Stone, 'With everything that's going on, it just felt right, doing something for the children.'

This family man is an inspiration who utilizes his incredible talents to spread the messages his father taught him for families all over.

Cooking is important to Ziggy Marley. Food is more than just nourishment; it’s connection and love. When Fatherly spoke to him earlier this year about his new album, More Family Time, Ziggy was quick to mention how he’d recently introduced his preschool son to the powers of celery juice. In 2016, he published the Ziggy Marley and Family Cookbook, which catalogues some of his favorite meals made from whole, organic ingredients, and in it, the Grammy Award-winner, author, and activist describes how he would help make fresh juice for his dad. It was something he loved and which gave him great joy. He and his wife have the same joy when feeding their three children.

As soon as we asked Ziggy to share a recipe with us, he quickly offered us this banana muffin recipe. Also found in the Ziggy Marley and Family Cookbook, it’s a simple take on the classic pastry.

“The Dad Special” is a celebration of food, family, and fathers who cook. Featuring chefs, celebrities, and kitchen crazy dads, this collection highlights meals — from family secrets to quick kid delights — meant to honor time spent at the table.

“I have a sweet tooth and these banana muffins are my go-to sweet tooth snack,” he says. “And to me homemade is always better than store bought.”

The muffins are simple to prepare and require only a few ingredients. They make for a great just-because breakfast treat or surprise snack. The only caveat we’d add is that you should probably double the recipe to make a larger batch. This only yields six to eight muffins.
