When it comes time to configure Ultimate Gamepad, you can choose to connect it using WiFi or Bluetooth. Both options work equally well. No matter which you chose, you just have to connect it to the computer that you want to use to play and you're set.
The buttons on the virtual control for Ultimate Gamepad are set up in a way that is very similar to how they are set up for Playstation. You have a cross, four buttons to the right, four upper triggers, and two central buttons (start and select).
Ultimate Gamepad is a very interesting app that allows you to always have a gamepad in your pocket. Of course, the virtual controller isn't as precise as a real one would be, but it could come in handy sometimes.
